A serial entrepreneur, Patrice Tanaka shares how you can find your purpose. In this episode, she shares the 10 questions that can help you discover your purpose too.

Five months after 9/11, Patrice found herself depressed and exhausted, in part because she was building a business with 12 other partners. At the same time, she was caring for her husband who later died of a brain tumor. As a result, Patrice sought out an executive coach, and the coach asked Patrice to “rethink” her purpose. She could hardly find the energy to envision it, and in fact, she was annoyed by the question.

Patrice worked at the answer, and after much discovery she decided that JOY was her life’s purpose. When she brought that answer to her coach, the coach asked “so what brings you joy?” In that moment, the answer was nothing.

Faced with the question, Patrice blurted out the answer: Dancing. She surprised herself because dancing was her childhood dream, but she hadn’t thought about in a long time.

After that session, Patrice followed her joy. She scheduled a dance lesson, and continued to follow her joy. Later, she started dancing competitively, secured a book deal and launched a new business. In this episode, Patrice shows us how purpose can unleash success, fulfillment and joy in your life and business.
